Charting Edward Carpenter

Charting Edward Carpenter—born out of the practice of digital humanities—uplifts the queer and rural life of Edward Carpenter through technology.

This project uses ArcGIS digital mapping software to chart significant locations from Carpenter’s 1916 memoir, My Days and Dreams, which entered the public domain in 2016.

Charting Edward Carpenter marries scholarly sources with visual and textual artifacts to bring this forgotten fragment of queer history into the contemporary era.
